Wheel and tyre questions
How often should I replace my tyres?
It depends on how and where you drive, and on the tyre. As a general guide, consider replacing them every 5 to 6 years, or sooner when the tread wear indicators are flush with the tread. Regular checks show when it's due.
Can I mix different brands or types of tyres?
For the best handling and safety, use the same brand and type of tyre in every position. Mixing tyres can affect how the vehicle handles and how stable it is.
How do I know what size tyres or wheels fit my vehicle?
Your vehicle maker lists the sizes in the owner's manual and on the tyre placard, usually on the driver's door jamb. We can also work out the right size and offset with you, including after a lift.
Why is wheel alignment important?
Correct alignment makes tyres wear evenly and last longer, saves fuel, and improves handling and safety. Have it checked at least once a year, and whenever new tyres are fitted.
How can I tell if my tyres need balancing?
Vibration through the steering wheel, seat or floor at certain speeds usually means a wheel needs balancing. Balancing improves comfort and makes tyres last longer.
